Abstract��The quality of high-speed railway wheel is crucial due to its very high running speed. The manufacture standard of high-speed rail wheels is much higher than the ordinary rail. The detection of high-speed rail wheels is required repeatedly. Wheel rim is the key point of wheel detection. Phased array ultrasonic testing has a great advantage to improve the detection rate and detection efficiency of iron rim defects�� because beam deflection ��focus and electronic scanning can be achieved through different delay law setting. The detection of the circumferential�� radial and axial direction of the wheel rim was presented�� and the detection method of the ultrasonic phased array was presented.
