Abstract��Compared with the macroscopic morphology and microstructure�� a lot of analysis on the layered phenomenon of the fractures of the impact specimens of the ship plate and the high strength steel plate was performed. The results showed that the layered phenomenon was mainly related to the center segregation. The segregation of the ship plate steel most gathered in the same region but the high strength steel��s appeared periodically in the thickness direction. It was suggested that the application of the product with the layered impact fracture should be treated differently according to the actual stress and structural type.
