Abstract��The angle steel is the main material used for the transmission tower. There are stringent technical requirements for the low temperature impact toughness of the angle steel in northern China�� especially in the alpine region. It can prevent the brittle fracture of the tower under the low temperature condition. But the design use level of the iron tower in the alpine region domestic is low�� and there are a few enterprises which can produce the high level low temperature angle steel. The effects of the main elements used in steel�� the V�� Al and other microalloy elements�� the inclusions�� the microstructure and the grain size on the impact toughness of the angle steel at low temperature are studied and the key technical parameters and operation control methods of the angle steel are mastered�� which has obvious guiding significance to the production practice.
