AbstractThe cracking cause of the T89 elevator rail was analyzed with chemical analysis oxygen and nitrogen analysis metallographic examination scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. Experimental results demonstrated that the main reasons for the cracking of the elevator rail were the low quality of continuous casting billet high content of oxygen and nitrogen and the oscillation marks. Suggestions on how to prevent cracking of the continuous casting slab and improve the qualified rate of the products were put forward.
