Abstract:The mechanical properties test of pipeline steel include tensile,bending,drop weight,impact and metallo-graphictests,amongwhichtensile testisthe mostconventionalandimportant test,fromwhichtheyieldstrength,ten-silestrength,yieldstrengthratioandotherstrengthpropertiesofthematerial canbeobtained,aswellastheelongation after fracture,the section shrinkageand other plastic indicators.There are many factors affecting the tensileproperties. Besidesthematerialitself,thepreparationandtestingprocessofthetensilesamplesarealsothekeyfactorsaffectingthe tensileproperties.Thesamplingandthe testarenotstandardized,whichwilllead tothedistortionoftheinspectionda-tas.Therectangularsection specimenis usually usedintheproductioninspectionof pipeline steel,butthethickness of pipelinesteelusedatpresentislarge,andsometimesitisnecessarytouseacircularsectionspecimenfortesting.Theef-fectofoperationdifferenceineverysamplingprocessesonthemechanicalpropertiesofpipelinesteelisstudied.
