Abstract:GCr15 is one of the most commonly used high carbon chromium bearing steels. Because of its high carbon content,it is easy to crack during production and processing.The GCr15 bearing steel round bars cracked in the processing of set rings.A series of physical and chemical property tests,such as chemical composition,microstructure and scanning electron microscopy,were conducted for the cracked samples.The results showed that the heat treatment process was improper during the process,which caused the abnormal heating structure leading to cracking of rings.Through reasonable optimization and control of quenching heating temperature,the cracking phenomenon of ring could be effectively improved.
