Abstract:In order to analyze the cracking reason of hot-rolled high strength automobile beam steel during bending,the bending crackingposition and the normal non-cracking position in the middle of the specimen were sampled,and the microstructure of samples were observed and analyzed.The analysis results showed that excessive amountsof inclusions,micro-cracks and abnormal microstructure were not found in the same direction cross-section of the normal specimen and the cracked specimen. Further,the samples were corroded by cold hydrochloric acid. The results showed that there were cracks parallel to the cracking direction in the pores. The analysis showed that the main causes of bending cracking were punching and micro-cracks in the holes in blending position.
