Discussion about the thermal analysis methods of testing Cruie transform temperature of Fe-based armorphousalloy

Abstract:From the purpose of exploring new test methods,the test methods for testing the Curie temperature of amorphous alloy were studied by using DSC heat flow method,specific heat method and thermal expansion method.The experimental conditions of thermal analysis were studied in terms of heating rate,crucible selection and sample mass. It was found that by adopting appropriate test conditions,all the three thermal methods could detect the obvious Curie transition signal.For Fe-based amorphous alloy,the Curie transition signal can be observed by using DSC heat flow test on the condition of Al crucible,appropriate sample size,and higher heating rate(over10 K/min),and the Curie transition process was jitter phenomenon on the heatflow curve. It was found by using the specific heat capacity method that the specific heat of Fe-based amorphous alloy decreased obviously before and after the Curie transform ation process,which reflected the essential characteristics of the change of DSC heat flow signal of the alloy.The thermalex pansion curve of Fe-based amorphous alloy wastested by thermal expansion method,and it was found that the typical Invar effect,namely abnormal expansion,appeared before and after Curie transformation,which reflected the magnetostriction phenomenon during Curie transformation,partially offset the expansion caused by the non-harmonic vibration of normallattice. Based on the results of the above three test methods,the thermal signal of amorphousalloy Curie transformation process can be comprehensively analyzed and evaluated.
