Abstract: In view of the fluctuation potentially of ultrasonic C scan testing system, different scanning parameters were used to preform the test by reference blocks. The results showed that the sensitivity of ultrasonic C scan testing system was affected by the surface quality of the workpieces, the deviation of the mechanical motion axis, the incidence angle of the probe, the block travel distance, the distance amplitude curve of reference blocks, the setting of the gate and so on. When the sensitivity changes greatly, the parameters should be corrected in time, which can partly reduce the error, improve the sensitivity of testing system.
