Abstract: The elastic modulus of series steel materials for automobile was measured and obtained by static tensile test. The effect of strengthening method, rolling direction and plastic deformation on the elastic modulus of the material was analyzed. The results showed that the elastic modulus of material could be affected by the way of strengthening, and the elastic modulus of steel material for automobile strengthened by solid solution treatment was the largest. The elastic modulus of the material showed anisotropic characteristics, and the maximum elastic modulus was perpendicular to the rolling direction. The plastic deformation reduced the elastic modulus of materials. The results in this study provided the calculation basis for engineering design, stamping simulation, crash simulation and spring back simulation.
