Abstract:The decarburization mechanism and type of steel, the standards for determination method of decarburization depth at home and abroad, and the changing course of domestic standards were introduced. The principle, characteristics and differences of different methods were studied and compared. The metallographical inspection method of typical types of steel was introduced. The standardization of measuring method for effective decarburization depth was proposed. The difficulties in measuring the decarburization depth of bearing steel, high speed steel and rail steel were sovled. This study was useful for understanding and implementing domestic and overseas standards for determination method of decarburization depth. It was convenient for international trade communication of steel and iron, and would propel the development and progress of control and testing technology on decarburization depth.
