Abstract:The oxygen nitrogen analyzer and roughness profilometer were employed for the comparative analysis of samples with different surface roughness. The influence of surface roughness of bearing steel sample on the determination of oxygen content was discussed. For GCr15 bearing steel sample after removing the surface oxidation layer, the results showed that when the surface roughness Ra was between 0.4 μm and 1 μm, it would affect the oxygen content detection results. But when the surface roughness of the sample (Ra) was less than 0.1 μm, the surface roughness had little influence on the detection results of oxygen content. The determination results were stable and close to the setting value of production.
