Abstract Through the comparative analysis with the cold bending fracture Q345B hot-strip sample and eligible sample of mechanical properties and microstructure, microscopic inclusions corresponding casting slab sample data and the chemical composition and macro-examination inspection data, using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy spectrum analysis on fracture analysis, obtaining continuous casting slab cross section 1/4-1/5 position among the steel belt is the main reason of the cold bending fracture, and put forward by optimizing the continuous casting process, increase effective control measures such as electromagnetic stirring among slab of crack formation, thus solving Q345B cold bending fracture problems with hot-strip method, has achieved remarkable results.
