Investigation on the Magnetostriction of Co-based Amorphous Glass-Covered Wires |

Abstract The magnetostriction coefficient of Co-based (Co(77-x)FexSi8B15��x=4,5,7)) amorphous glass-covered wires (AGCW) was measured by the method of Small Angle Magnetization Rotation (SAMR). The influence of tensile stress on magnetostriction coefficient was investigated. The results showed that: The magnetostriction coefficient of all three samples decreas with increasing of ��. The magnetostriction coefficient of Co72Fe5Si8B15 sample decreas from +1.1��10-7 (��=0 MPa) to -3.3��10-7 (��=1880 MPa) with increasing of ��, which show a sign change from positive to negative.
