Analysis of Tertiary Scale with Different Hot Rolling Processes Parameters |

Abstract Abstract: The numerical simulation of tertiary scale formation was carried out with different initial rolling temperatures��finish rolling temperatures and coiling temperatures. The results showed that the proportion of Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 dropped and the growth rate of FeO were large with initial rolling temperature and finish rolling temperature raising. The hysteresis phenomenon of oxide scale decomposition is universal in practical production. The most eutectoid structure would be obtained at 350-500��, with this temperature was ��nose�� temperature. One of the effective methods to control proeutectoid and eutectoid transformations were rapid cooling from high temperature region to ��nose�� temperature and slow cooling from ��nose�� temperature to room temperature in practical production. The amount of FeO was large because the coiling temperature was above the ��nose�� temperature, and this kind of oxide scale was beneficial to pickling. With the coiling temperature was ��nose�� temperature, the amount of Fe3O4 was large. There were two thoughts of controlling hot rolling oxide scale.
