Low Temperature Impacting Ductility for High Phosphorous Steel Cast Strip |

Abstract In the present work, a new low temperature impacting test method for nonstandard sample was made. The increase of temperature for the 0.8mm strip steel in low temperature impacting test was computed and the impact temperature for the strip was corrected by using the finite element method. Impacting toughness for the conventional and cast strip nonstandard samples was contrastively investigated by using the low temperature impacting test method in this paper. The results show that ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) for the 0.8mm strip containing 0.08% P corresponded to that for standard sample, indicating that it was feasible to measure DBTT by using the low temperature impacting test in this paper; The ductile-brittle transition temperatures (DBTT) for the cast strips were measured to be lower by about 10�� than those for the conventional strips with equal P contents.
