Causes and Improvement of Stamping Earing of SPHC Hot Rolling Pickling Sheet |

Abstract Earing defect appeared when an SPHC pickling sheet was pressed, which influenced product yield. Through research and analysis of factors causing earing defect��and metallographic examination, chemical composition analysis, mechanical property test, thickness measurement�� it was indicated that the main reasons causing earing defect are mischcrystal structure especially at strip edge, thickness design and control and the use of mould. Production practice showed that effective actions as making reasonable hot rolling process system ,promoting composition design ,taking thickness negative tolerance design and using reasonable parameter of the mould should be performed to reduce the rate of earing defect.
