Abstract Explosive welding material is widely used in many fields for its excellent properties. Interface combination status of the material is very necessary in performance judging. In order to observe interface combination status clearly, metallography technology for preparation of explosive welding material interface samples is described systematically including operational procedure and technical points in burnishing, polishing and corrosion. The results show that this technique is effective.
