Call for Papers for the Special Issue on “Large Castings and Forgings”
Large castings and forgings play a crucial role in development of society and economy. The products of large castings and forgings are the fundamental of heavy equipment, which are widely used as the fundamental components of many industries, e.g., electric power, metallurgy, petroleum and chemical, shipbuilding, railway, mining, aerospace. Over the past decades, many studies have been performed with respect to smelting, casting, heat treatment and forging and relevant technologies have made a great advance. Nevertheless, there still are some problems to be solved, which limit the development of casting and forging industries, including macrosegregation, large size inclusion, shrinkage and porosity and low production yield.
Thus, to present state-of-the-art studies on new advances in the field of large castings and forgings, Journal of Iron and Steel Research International plans to organize a special issue on "Large castings and forging" in 2022 (regular issue). Prof. Chuan-jun Li from Shanghai University and Associate Prof. Wan-ming Li from University of Science and Technology Liaoning are invited to serve as guest editors for this special issue. It is our pleasure to invite you to submit original contributions to this special issue. Articles including but not limited to the following topics are welcomed.
(1) Alloying element modification and chemical composition optimization
(2) Experiments regarding material properties and technologies
(3) Nonmetallic inclusion control and refining
(4) Numerical simulation regarding solidification
(5) Casting technologies and technology optimization
(6) Heat treatment and performance control
(7) Forging and forming of large ingots
(8) New theories and techniques relating to large castings and forgings
The special issue mainly covers the original paper and review. Submitted papers should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts must be reviewed through standard peer review.
