Research and Development of Advanced Boiler Steel Tubes and Pipes Used for 600 oC USC Power Plants in China

  • The authors of the paper summarized the investigation in laboratories, pilot trials and industrial implementation of P92, S30432 and S31042 boiler steel tube /pipes used for 600oC steam parameter fossil fired ultra super critical (USC) power plants in China in the past decade, with the emphasis on the technical breakthrough of the determination of chemistry optimization and the best fit heat treatment during production. The authors discussed the microstructure stability of the steel tube/pipes during long term service. The advancement of industrial production of P92, S30432 and S31042 steel tube/pipes and their expected application in China was also included in the present paper. The obtained results have shown that the steel and boiler makers of China have been able to successfully manufacture P92, S30432 and S31042 boiler steel tube/pipes used to build 600oC steam parameter USC power plants, and the supplying capability will be gradually achieved.
