Analysis and improvement of aluminum linear defects on surface of tinplate
-
Abstract
There are linear defects on the surface of tinplate, resulting in a significant increase in the quality cost of tin plate. The length, width, frequency and location of the defects are random. In order to study the type and mechanism of the defects, the defects were analyzed by JSM-6610 scanning electron microscope and energy dispersions spectrometer. It was found that Al based inclusion was the main cause of linear defects on the surface of tinplate. By adopting the control measures such as increasing the cycle time of RH after alloying and reducing the ladle-tundish slag, the incidence of linear defects on the surface of tinplate was reduced to 0.25% from 0.75%.
