Application of forward development for commercial vehicle on light weight frame of heavy truck

  • Through the benchmarking of the chemical composition of the steel material for frame rail around the world,the high strength steel was developed,whose chemical composition and mechanical properties can meet the requirements of forming process. Combined with the CAE analysis of frame structure,the adjustment of the actual key process and the loading and complete vehicle durability testing of the final realized sample,the lightweight scheme for commercial vehicle forward development base on material develop-design optimization-lean manufacturing-safety evaluation was formed. The material of the yield strength of 620-700 MPa was successfully applied on the frame rail of the heavy truck in Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive,and the realization of the vehicle lightweight was accelerated.
