Design of vision detection algorithm and system for green pellet of pelletizer

  • A vision detection system was proposed for realizing automatic detection of the diameter of the green pellet in the pelletizer. Aiming at the problem of the adhesion or overlap of the green pellet and the poor contrast between the green pellet and the background,an algorithm of image segmentation and edge extraction based on Gaussian mixture model was proposed. The overlappd green balls are segmented by building Gaussian mixture model,the split green pellet is incomplete. The circle fitting method based on the least square method is used to reconstruct the missing contour of green pellet. The obtained experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper has the advantages of high precision,high accuracy and small error with the real results.
