Development and application of a swing radar instrument for blast furnace burden surface

Abstract
In order to accurately and efficiently obtain the burden level information of blast furnace,a blast furnace burden surface instrument of swing radar was designed. In view of the harsh detection environment,the radar scanning equipment including cooling and dust removal device was designed to extend the service life of the radar. According to the principle of remote sensing synthetic aperture radar( SAR) imaging,the echo signals obtained by the swing radar were arranged in order, and the radar scanning image was reconstructed by coordinate transformation. Because of the complex noise signal and fuzzy typical fluctuation in blast furnace burden surface radar echo,the imaging effect is poor. The threshold segmentation method based on bandwidth variance iteration was used to remove noise,and then the energy barycenter method based on weighted sampling was used to sharpen the peak ridge,and finally the clear stock surface image was obtained. The successful operation of No. 2 BF and No. 3 BF in Nangang shows that the visualization of BF burden surface is helpful to quickly find out reasonable burden distribution matrix and stabilize reasonable burden surface shape.
