Cause analysis and preventive measures of the sticking steel on oxygen lance of 90t combined blown converter in laiwu steel

  • Oxygen lance is an important equipment on combined blown converter. It is common that during the smelting process in converter, there is sticking steel on the oxygen lance. The main factors that lead to sticking steel on oxygen lance of 90t combined blown converter in Laiwu Steel was analyzed,searched the preventive measures from oxygen lance position control, slopping control, basicity of slag, etc. Through measures such as controlling the splash at low temperature and high temperature, adopting high and low lance position, and low basicity refining, achieved the target of overall process slugging and prevented the slag turning excessively wet or dry, made the slag to keep a proper basicity and good mobility. The bottom height was also well controlled, the liquid level was measured in time to obtain the lance position. In this way, reduced the number of sticking steel on oxygen lance, increased the life of oxygen lance, and speeded up production efficiency.
