Experimental analysis on use of semi-coke as fuel for blast furnace injection
-
Abstract
In order to study the feasibility of semi-coke used as fuel for blast furnace injection in an iron and steel enterprise, the performance such as grindability, explosibility, combustion and reactivity of semi-coke and coal is tested. The results showed that the proximate analysis indexes of semi-coke were close to anthracite overall, which met the index requirements for BF injection. Compared with anthracite, semi-coke had slightly higher ash content, lower sulfur content, slightly lower calorific value and higher volatile matter. The grindability of semi-coke was lower than that of anthracite, it should be combined with anthracite B, anthracite C and anthracite F with better grindability. Semi-coke belonged to non-explosive coal, and there was no potential safety hazard for injection. The combustion of semi-coke was lower than that of anthracite, but the replacement of anthracite E by it will not affect the injection effect. The reactivity of semi-coke is better, which will improve the overall reactivity of injected fuel and protect coke. The reasonable injection ratio of semi-coke should be controlled within 20%.
