Effect of CaO on combustion and melting properties of Shendong bituminous coal

  • In order to study the effect of CaO on the combustion and melting properties of Shendong bituminous coal, the changes of the combustion and melting properties of Shendong bituminous coal after adding different CaO content were studied experimentally. And the use of FactSage thermodynamic calculation software was used to study the effect of adding different content of CaO on the melting properties of pulverized coal. The results showed that with the addition of CaO, there was a very obvious catalytic effect on the flammability of the two Shendong bituminous coals. By observing the change of minerals in the coal after adding CaO, it could be found that with the addition of CaO, CaO reacted with the original minerals in the coal ash to form a new phase, which had an effect on the melting properties of coal. And with the addition of CaO, the melting characteristic temperature of coal ash showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing. When the CaO mass fraction in coal ash was 30%-35%, the complete melting temperature reached the lowest point.
