Method for determining ferrite grain size in two-phase microstructure of hypoeutectoid steel

  • The grain size of the main phase in the two-phase microstructure of the hypoeutectoid steel is mainly determined by two methods: metallographic method and EBSD method. The grain size can be measured and ranked by the metallographic method, while the quantitative measurement process of grain size needs to be completed manually. The grain size of electrolytically polished specimens can be automatically measured by the EBSD method. With the difference in the quality of the two-phase pattern, the automatic analysis of the ferrite grain in the two-phase microstructure of ferrite and pearlite can be realized.
