Measures to enhance gas yield of coking furnace in Shougang Jingtang Company
-
Abstract
Coking product distributions of four commonly used coal species from Jiexiu, Tunlan, Malan and Huozhou in Shougang Jingtang Company were investigated. It showed that the gas yield of Tunlan was higher than Jiexiu even though both the coal species were belonged to coking coals. Furthermore, the coke cold strength from Tunlan decreased slightly while the thermal strength stayed steady mostly. In the coal blending process, increasing the proportion of Huozhou fat coal can improve the coking gas yield, but the thermal strength of coke obtained after coking from Huozhou fat coal was inferior to Malan fat coal. In addition, coking coal, which can improve the coking gas yield, tends to reduce the coke strength. Therefore, comprehensive considerations should be taken to weigh the results of increasing gas yields and coke qualities for coal species selection.
