Development of Studies on Sensible Heat Recovery from Blast Furnace Slag by Chemical Methods
-
Abstract
Blast furnace slag, is the main by-product in the ironmaking process, which contains large amounts of sensible heat. However, the sensible heat is not recovered in the transitional water granulation process at present. To solve this problem, many studies have been taken in the laboratory, which can be roughly classified into physical exchange heat method and the chemical recovery heat method. Compared with the physical method, the chemical heat recovery method has better prospects. This paper commented the chemical methods of sensible heat recovery of the blast furnace slag both inland and abroad at the present, which involved methane-steam circular reaction, methane reforming, coal gasification and production of high added value product. The disadvantages and advantages of these methods were discussed, and the key problems and the development trends of the chemical method of molten slag sensible heat recovery were also presented.
