The Development and Application of Dynamic Soft Reduction Control Model in Bloom Continuous Casting Machine |

Abstract The dynamic soft reduction technology is the effective method to reduce and even eliminate the centerline looseness and segregation of continuous casting strands. In the present paper, a bloom dynamic soft reduction control model was studied and developed for No.2 bloom continuous casting machine in Panzhihua steel, and the gap values calculation method for the press rolls of withdrawal and straightening machines during the process of soft reduction was presented. The model application results show that quality of the blooms has been improved obviously, and the integrated qualified rate of blooms central segregation and central looseness defects class ≤1.0 is up to 99.03%.
