Abstract Route of LDLFRHCC is adopted to produce high quality gear steel 20CrMoH. During tapping, the bath is deoxidized by aluminium, and high basicity and low oxidability slag is made to refine the molten steel. The sulphide capacity and sulphur distribution of slag during were calculated using KTH model and Turkdogan’s formula respectively, and then compared with measured values. The desulphurization efficiency during refining is analyzed.
