Abstract Based on the production data of a 60 t ladle furnace in Fushun steelmaking plant, a model of electrode consumption of LF refining was developed. In the model, both side consumption and end consumption are considered. The electrode consumption in production is analyzed with the model. The measures and advices to reduce electrode consumption are brought forward.
