STUDY ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF Fe-Mn-Si-Al STEELS |

Abstract The tensile properties of three steels (Fe-30Mn-3Si-3Al, Fe-15Mn-2Si-2Al and Fe-15Mn) show that yield strength and fracture strength increase, and expansion ratio of elongation percentage elongation strain decreases with the decrease of Mn, Si and Al contents. Frequency of Coincidence site lattice grain boundary (CSL) is 83.4%, 36% and 21% for three steels, respectively. Deformation twinning is comprised of a primary twins and secondary twins. A angle between the primary twins and secondary twins is about 60 degree. Most of secondary twins grows in the primary twins. But, some of secondary twins traverse the primary twins boundaries in the heavy deformation band.
