Effect of Deformation Temperature and Cooling Rate on Grain Size Refining of MediumCarbon NbBearing Steel |

Abstract By using Gleeble1500 machine, the effect of different deformation temperature and cooling rate on grain refinement of austenite grains after reheat quenching and the mechanism of grain refinement were studied. The results show that austenite grains size are all less than 10 μm by hot deform followed by direct quenching, and then reheat quenching, austenite grains refining with decreasing deformation temperature as a result of prior austenite grains become from equiaxed grains to pancake grains; The finer austenite grain can be obtained by hot deform followed by direct quenching and then reheat quenching, compared with hot deform followed by slow cooling at 5 ℃/s and then reheat quenching.
