Abstract In order to reduce cost of raw materials and relieve sinter supply, according to technology and equipment conditions,a charging technology for smallsized sinters （3~5mm）was developed on No.1 1750 m3 BF at Ji’nan Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd.,The technology was adopted from March to August in 2005 and it was proved that the BF operation and indexes were improved. At the same time the conditions of stabilizing furnace profile and protecting cooling equipment were provided.
