| Study on Production Process of Quenched and Tempered for SPV490Q Steel Plate |

Abstract The direct quenching online process and the conventional off-line reheat quenching process were adopted to pilot produce large oil storage tank SPV490 steel. The effect of quenching process on mechanical properties and microstructure of SPV490 steel was investigated and the differences of properties and microstructures when quenching plates tempered at 640℃were also compared. The results showed that the plate directly quenched and tempered at 640℃obtains more excellent matching properties of strength , toughness and tempering resistance.
