Study on Flash Magnetizing Roasting in of Huangmei Limonitic Ore |

Abstract Abstract: Magnetizing reduction is one of the most effective unit operations in the treatment of iron ores specially those which are poorly responsive to conventional beneficiation techniques. Aiming at the disadvantages of traditional magnetic roasting process on high energy consumption, low efficiency and bad roasted quality, the feasibility of magnetic roasting limonite by air suspension process was investigated. The natural limonite ores used in the experiment was from Huangmei, Hubei province. On this basis, magnetic roasting limonite by suspension process at middle-high temperature was conducted. The effects of operation parameters such as roasting atmosphere , temperature and the ratio of the iron ore weight, W(kg), to the reducing gas, V(Nm3) on the roasting indexes were analyzed. The optimical operating parameters for the concentrate of roasted ores with perfect iron grade and iron recovery were obtained.
The results showed that: in the condition of the volume fraction of CO was 3.5%, the temperature was 800~950℃and the solid-gas ratio was 0.5~0.8 kg/Nm3 ,By flash magnetic roasting, the grade of roasting limonite is nearly 33%, and the feasibility of separation is effective. It could get a good index through simple flow of mineral processing, the iron grade of concentrate reach to 60.67% and the iron recovery rate reach to 94.49%. It is reveal that the new created flash magnetic roasting device had an obvious effect on roasting limonite.
