Abstract The addition of nitrogen on austenitic steel TP347H can modify its structure and enhance its mechanical properties. The results show that when the content of added nitrogen is higher than 0.123%, the precipitation of ferrite can be effectively inhibited in the hightemperature solution. The addition of nitrogen also significantly improved the tensile strength at room temperature and creep rupture lift. Thus, the TP347H austenitic stainless steel containing nitrogen can be used as a heatresistant material in new highperformance ultrasupercritical thermal power units.
