Analysis of Energy Consumption of High Efficiency EAF Steelmaking |

Abstract Energy consumption of high efficiency EAF steelmaking was analysed. 12,000 data at 5 production steps at three EAF steelmakers were collected and analyzed to get specific power and energy consumption of sintering, iron making, DRI making, steelmaking in EAF and hot rolling. And the whole ministeel route was defined to be composed of these 5 steps. It showed that the high efficiency EAF steelmaking has made great progress with hot metal charge in reducing specific power consumption of EAF steelmaking and whole ministeel route,but the specific energy consumption of whole ministeel route has been increased obviously.
