Abstract The latest applications of Danieli Thin Slab Casting and Rolling technlogies, showing the possibility to apply Danieli technlogy also to the production of highy demanding and hiaddedcost steelgrades are described.A new CRC (Casting Rolling Complex ) Plant is to be constructed at OMK in Vyksa, Nizhny Novgorod Region by Danieli.The plant will be the first thin slab casting & rolling plant installed in Russia and the first in the world specifically conceived for the production of API grades for arctic applications using thin slab process route.Other two Danieli Thin Slab Casting and Rolling plants are at present in full operation in China in Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co Ltd and Benxi Iron & Steel Group Co Ltd: the first holding the world production record for productivity, the latter is the first plant in China to cast and roll Silicon steels, using the thin slab process route.
