Abstract For HTAC (Hight Temperature Air Combustion) technology, pressure control and pressure fluctuation during combustion switchover are very important to the furnace reliability and stability. According to modeling theory, it was found that the pressure control could be realized by controlling the ratio of blasting capacity and induced draft capacity, and the best way is to control the induced draft of the tail duct. When the heating zones were switched over simultaneously, the average pressure fluctuation were within 35 pascals in the whole period, the lowest pressure was observed while outer ring was at blasting and inner ring was at induced draft stage. The highest pressure was observed in No.2 heating zone at the second switchover. The general pressure fluatuation was not high enough to affect the reliability of the furnace. With sequential switchover of all individual burners, the effect on furnace pressure will be minimized.
