Abstract The slab caster and technology were designed based on metallurgical properties and final applications of stainless steel. The technology was modified during hot commissioning and mass production. Recently, it has been proven that the casting technology is advanced because the slab grinding ratio of grade 304 is on the same level at the reference plant.
