Abstract The production of thin gauge strips in 2006 at ZhuJiang Steel is introduced.Mase production of highquality the thin gauge hot rolled strips was realized by developing a series of technologies for EAFCSP line at Zhujiang Steel. The proportions of plain steel and container strips of ≤2.0mm is more than seventy percent, including ≤15mm plain steel strips of thirtyfive percent and ≤1.6mm container strips of forty percent. The limit thickness of 345MPa container strips reaches 1.4 mm, and the limit thickness of 550MPa high strength automobile structural steel strips reaches 1.8 mm. The limit thickness is 2.0 mm for 700MPa ultrahigh strength weatherresistant strips.
