Improvement of Mill Type and Development of Flatness Control Capability of 1420 mm Tandem Cold Mill |

Abstract 1420 mm tandem cold mill in Baosteel was used as the study platform. CVC mill type has been widely used in strip production at home and abroad . Two special problems exist in CVC flatness control technology , one is uneven axial distribution of surface wear of backup roll , the other is insufficient capability for strip edge flatness control. Method and technology of roll profile was designed for back up roll in CVC tandem cold mill, edge drop control was developed for DI tinplate which demanded good quality of edge drop, mill type of this CVC tandem cold mill was improved to some extent, and flatness control capability was increased obviously. After the modification, stripe flatness is improved, variety and yield of product are developed, productivity is increased.
