Abstract Considering the disadvantages of nonlinearity、large time-delay and time-varying of gauge control system of cold-continuous rolling sheet, a strategy of Fuzzy-Immune-PID control based on Gray prediction is proposed. The strategy is based on the immune feedback principle in the biological immune system and the approaching ability for nonlinear function of fuzzy control to design a fuzzy-immune-PID controller. Then put the gray prediction into on-line use and replaces the measured value of the controlled object by the prediction results to control the system. The strategy has characteristics of low overshoot, short regulating time, strong anti-disturbance ability and great robustness. Simulation results indicate that the method has well control performance compared with conventional control method.
