| The Effect of Ce on mechanical properties of 1Cr18Mn8Ni5N Stainless Steel |

Abstract Effects of rare earth Ce on the hardness，strength, ductility and impact toughness of 1Cr18Mn8Ni5N stainless steel is studied. The mechanical properties of 1Cr18Mn8Ni5N stainless steel with five different contents of Ce are compared with those of the 1Cr18Mn8Ni5N stainless steel without Ce addition under the same heat treatment process. The results show that the hardness,strength, ductility and impact toughness of 1Cr18Mn8Ni5N stainless steel are obviously improved when added a proper content of RE Ce element. The 1Cr18Mn8Ni5N stainless steel with RE Ce element of 0.016 % in mass fraction has the best mechanical properties.
