Study on Role of AcidSoluble Aluminum in AluminumKilled Low Carbon Steel Produced by TSCR |

Abstract The role of acidsoluble aluminum in aluminumkilled low carbon steel produced by TSCR is discussed. The results show that the acidsoluble aluminum has no distinct effect on the grain size and mechanical property of aluminumkilled low carbon steel plates produced by TSCR whose acidsoluble aluminum content is 0.005%0043%, but acidsoluble aluminum has obvious effect on the grain size of aluminumkilled low carbon steel plates produced by TSCR when reheated. The grain coarsening temperature is increased with the acidsoluble aluminum content. So it is concluded that the acidsoluble aluminum content can be controlled to about 0.01% to these steels which do not need to emphasize welding property, but to those steels which need to insist welding property and other special properties the acidsoluble aluminum content should be controlled to 0.02%0.04%.
