Effect of Quench Process on Mechanical Properties of the Center of the Ni-Cr-Mo-B Ultra-Thick Steel Plate |

Abstract Effects of different quenching temperatures, different soaking time and double quenching process on mechanical properties of ultra-thick steel plate were investigated in order to improve the properties of the center of the Ni-Cr-Mo-B ultra-thick steel plate. The results show that excellent combination properties for strength and toughness, especially a good property in plate center can be achieved by quenching at 890-920℃, extended soaking time (to 3h) or double quenching process.
