Abstract Based on the existing steelmaking technical equipments, soft-reduction method and continuous casting technical parameters when casting AH36 steel on caster No.2 of Masteel was studied. The result shows that: the method of soft reduction by static gap have much limitational, the best project is adopting static gap curve No.1 with No.3 dynamic soft reduction together. On the basic of segment guarantee the accuracy of arc and roll gap control accuracy, by optimizing the parameter of soft reduction, the quality of slab has been improved, and the average grade of the center segregation for AH36 increases from B1.5 to C1.0.
